Road rage: Man nabbed for waving toy gun at another driver

KUALA LUMPUR: Police have arrested a man after he brandished a toy gun in a fit of road rage.

Brickfields OCPD Asst Comm Hoo Chan Hook, in a statement on Sunday (Jan 11), said that the police had received a report of the incident of Jan 11.

This follows a video of the incident, which showed the suspect in an SUV along the KME37 of the East-West Link Expressway.

"At around 7pm the same day, police arrested a 60-year-old man who admitted to waving the toy gun and driving the vehicle at the time. Two toy guns were seized alongside the vehicle used.

"The suspect told the police that a car had cut across him without signalling. He responded by doing the same, which led the driver to start scolding the suspect.

"In retaliation, the suspect then waved the toy gun before driving off," he said.

Checks showed the suspect also had five prior criminal records.

"He will be remanded tomorrow," ACP Hoo said.
