Zambry:  Polytechnics can nurture successful  innovators

Datuk Seri Dr Zambry Abd Kadir

KUALA LUMPUR: The success of a team from Politeknik Sultan Idris Shah in winning two prestigious awards at the Seoul International Invention Fair (SIIF) 2025 shows that polytechnics are no longer a second choice, says Higher Education Minister Datuk Seri Dr Zambry Abd Kadir (pic).

He said the achievement demonstrated that polytechnics nurture globally minded, competitive innovators who are able to succeed on the world stage.

“Highest appreciation and congratulations to the entire team and all those directly and indirectly involved for their outstanding commitment, dedication and teamwork,” he said in a Facebook post yesterday, Bernama reported.

At the SIIF 2025 held in Seoul, South Korea, from Dec 3 to 6, Politeknik Sultan Idris Shah clinched a gold award for A-Port Simulation: Inclusive Airport Experience with Interactive Navigation and a silver award for PlantScape Apps for Residential 2.0.

SIIF brings together inventors and researchers from around the world to showcase new ideas and products to manufacturers, investors, distributors, licensing firms and the public.
