Seven injured as two tour buses, SUV crash in Pahang


KUANTAN: Seven individuals have been injured in an accident involving two tour buses and a sports utility vehicle (SUV) at KM15 of the Genting Highlands-Genting Sempah downhill road.

Pahang Fire and Rescue Department operations and rescue division assistant director Mohd Salahuddin Isa said they received an emergency call regarding the incident at 5.29pm on Saturday (May 30) and a fire engine from the Genting Highlands Fire and Rescue Station arrived at the scene at 6.06pm.

"One of the buses carrying 36 passengers, all of whom are Nepalese, overturned, resulting in six people being injured. Meanwhile, all 34 passengers in the other tour bus from Bangladesh and Nepal were not injured," he said in a statement on Saturday.

Mohd Salahuddin said one of the three individuals in the SUV was also injured, while the other two were unharmed. All victims managed to exit their vehicles before firemen arrived.

"First aid was given to the injured before they were handed over to the Health Ministry personnel to be sent to the hospital," he said. – Bernama
