Police question four following discovery body of newborn baby boy

KUALA LUMPUR: Four individuals have had their statements recorded by the police following the discovery of the body of a newborn baby boy in Bukit Jalil.

Cheras OCPD Asst Comm Aidil Bolhassan said the statements were taken as part of ongoing investigations into the case, which was first reported on Thursday (Dec 11) at about 12.51pm.

He said preliminary findings estimated the fetus to be around 25 weeks old, with severe injuries found on the body.

“The baby was found with injuries to the abdomen, a fractured skull, and a severed umbilical cord,” he said in a statement on Friday (Dec 12).

Previously, it was reported that rubbish collectors conducting their rounds in Bukit Jalil found a body of just-born baby boy.

A man working for Alam Flora alerted the police after his colleague discovered the body while transferring rubbish into a compactor truck.

The case is being investigated under Section 315 of the Penal Code (Act done with intent to prevent a child being born alive or to cause it to die after birth).
