Cops nab third suspect in Jln Rasah rush-hour shooting


SEREMBAN: Police have detained a third suspect to assist in investigations into the fatal shooting of a 43-year-old bodyguard-cum-driver near here.

They had earlier detained two suspects and seized a gun.

Negri Sembilan police chief Deputy Comm Datuk Alzafny Ahmad said they have also obtained a court order to remand the three suspects, whose ages range from the 30s to 40s, for five days until Sunday (Dec 15).

"The three were detained separately in Nilai, Port Dickson and Seremban.

"The case is being probed under Section 302 of the Penal Code for murder and Section 3 of the Firearms (Increased Penalties) Act 1971," he said on Thursday (Dec 11).

The deceased and a 47-year-old individual were waylaid along Jalan Rasah near Mambau as they were driving towards the Port Dickson toll plaza on Wednesday (Dec 10) morning during rush hour.

Both the victims were found still alive at the scene and were rushed to the hospital, but the driver died while receiving treatment.

The other victim was warded and remains in critical condition.

Police believe the motive of the attack was revenge and gang rivalry.
