Negri Sembilan police chief Deputy Comm Datuk Alzafny Ahmad said earlier that the deadly shooting took place during the morning rush hour along Jalan Rasah near here.

He said two assailants on a motorcycle waylaid the victims in their car near the Port Dickson toll plaza.

DCP Alzafny said that both the victims were still alive at the scene and were rushed to the hospital, but the driver, who was in critical condition, died while receiving treatment.

He said the motive of the attack was believed to be revenge and gang rivalry.
