Sharper digital eyes on the road

KUALA LUMPUR: The newly launched MyJalan 2.0 application will be enhanced with real-time tracking status and safety analytics for speedy road repairs, says Works Minister Datuk Seri Alexander Nanta Linggi (pic).

He said the original MyJalan initiative remains the primary platform for enhancing road maintenance in a responsive and data-driven manner.

He said between August 2023 and September 2025, there were 43,978 complaints received through the MyJalan application.

Of these, 13,451 complaints fell under the Works Ministry and 12,890 or 95.83% were resolved.

The remaining complaints fell under the “No Wrong Door” category and were channelled to the relevant local authorities for action.

“This capability will be enhanced through the launch of MyJalan 2.0, which offers smart integration, real-time status tracking and safety analytics to enable repairs to be carried out more proactively, quickly and efficiently,” he said at the ministry’s monthly assembly yesterday.

The MyJalan 2.0 application, launched yesterday, will have updated features including audio, more accurate GPS information with the use of CCTV, and disaster information.

The system will be integrated with PBT Care, allowing municipal road complaints to be sent directly to the local authorities more quickly and efficiently.

The original MyJalan application, launched in 2023, allows users to report road issues such as potholes, broken signs or lights.

The initiative to upgrade 67 intersections to Smart Traffic Lights has also improved traffic efficiency and reduced accident risk, Nanta said.

“These achievements reflect the government’s determination to ensure that development is not merely cosmetic but truly impacts the lives of the people – from the comfort of patients, school children and rural communities to the safety personnel who serve the nation,” he said.
