MACC task force nabs 3,523 suspects, seizes RM6.87bil in three-year blitz

PUTRAJAYA: A total of 3,523 arrests were recorded between 2023 and 2025, with RM6.87bil seized in the last year, as operations successfully dismantled large-scale, cross-sector syndicates under the Multi-Agency Task Force (MATF), says Tan Sri Azam Baki.

“These are not just numbers, but a reflection of our ability to combat corruption and financial crimes in a coordinated manner,” said the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) chief commissioner during the MATF: Way Forward engagement session at the MACC headquarters here on Thursday (April 2).

Azam said the 3,523 arrests involved high-profile cases under operations such as Ops Samba 2.0, Ops Taufan, Ops Yellow, Ops Counter Setting and Ops Bunga.

He added that major crackdowns through Ops White, Ops Kingfruit, Ops X, Ops Sikaro, Ops Metal, Ops Karen and Ops Grip had successfully exposed large-scale organised syndicates operating across multiple sectors.

“MACC recorded seizures amounting to RM6.87bil in 2025 alone, including freezing, forfeiture, compounds and settlements, which have had a direct impact on national revenue,” he said.

As the lead agency for MATF, Azam said MACC has also spearheaded high-impact operations such as Operation 82S, Ops Tropicana, Ops Eagle and Ops Liter.
