Floods: Bomba rescues four stranded travellers near Miri

KUCHING: Four men have been rescued from a vehicle stranded in floodwaters at Jalan Penerangan in Sepupok, Niah, near Miri, on Tuesday (Dec 9).

The Sarawak Fire and Rescue Department (Bomba) operations centre said the Batu Niah fire station deployed a rescue team after receiving a distress call at 9.09am.

Upon arriving at the location, the team found the men trapped on top of a four-wheel-drive vehicle in the flooded stretch of road.

"All four victims were transferred into a Bomba boat and safely transported to Jambatan Simpang Sepupok in Niah," the centre said.

The victims, who were unharmed, comprised three Malaysians and an Indonesian who were on their way to a government office in Niah.
