Man killed as piling machine falls on his 4WD vehicle in Lawas


SIBU: A man has died after a piling machine fell on his four-wheel-drive vehicle in Kampung Peruan, Long Tuma in Lawas near here.

The Sarawak Fire and Rescue Department operations centre said the victim, Bili Muli, 31, was found trapped in the driver's seat of the vehicle and was confirmed dead by medical officers from the Lawas Hospital.

It stated a call was received about the incident at 4.55 pm on Sunday (Dec 7) and a team from the Lawas Fire and Rescue Station was sent to the location eight kilometres away.

"The team arrived at 5.03pm and removed the trapped victim using special equipment to cut through the vehicle," it said in a statement.

The victim's body was then handed over to the police for further action. – Bernama
