Thunderstorms, heavy rain expected in seven states, KL and Putrajaya until 4pm


KUALA LUMPUR: The Malaysian Meteorological Department (MetMalaysia) has issued a warning of thunderstorms, heavy rain and strong winds across seven states as well as the Federal Territories of Kuala Lumpur and Putrajaya, effective until 4pm on Saturday (Dec 6).

MetMalaysia, in a statement, said the severe weather is expected to affect Perlis; several districts in Kedah (Kubang Pasu, Padang Terap, Sik and Baling); Perak (Hulu Perak); as well as multiple areas in Selangor, including Kuala Selangor, Hulu Selangor, Klang, Gombak, Petaling, Kuala Langat, Hulu Langat and Sepang.

A similar warning has also been issued for parts of Negeri Sembilan (Jelebu, Jempol and Tampin) and Johor (Segamat, Kluang, Mersing, Kulai, Kota Tinggi and Johor Bahru).

In Sarawak, the affected areas include Sri Aman (Sri Aman), Betong, Sarikei (Sarikei and Meradong) and Mukah (Tanjung Manis, Daro and Matu). - Bernama
