KUALA LUMPUR: The Malaysian Meteorological Department (MetMalaysia) has issued an alert-level continuous rain warning for several states in Peninsular Malaysia, as well as parts of Sabah and Sarawak.
MetMalaysia director-general Dr Mohd Hisham Mohd Anip said continuous rain is expected in Sabah, specifically Sandakan (covering Telupid, Kinabatangan and Beluran) and Kudat from Dec 5 to 6.
He said a similar warning has been issued for Dec 6 to 7 for Kelantan (Tumpat, Pasir Mas, Kota Baru, Bachok and Pasir Puteh), Terengganu and parts of Pahang (Kuantan, Pekan and Rompin).
“From Dec 7 to 8, continuous rain is forecast in several districts in Johor (Segamat, Kluang, Mersing, Kulai, Kota Tinggi and Johor Baru), as well as in Sarawak, covering Kuching, Serian, Samarahan, Sri Aman, Betong, Sarikei (Pakan, Sarikei and Meradong), Sibu (Sibu and Selangau), Mukah and Bintulu,” he said in a statement, Bernama reported.
