Four houses, a workshop, three vehicles destroyed in a fire at Jalan Meru


SHAH ALAM: Four houses, a workshop, and three vehicles were destroyed in a fire at Jalan Meru, Klang, on Tuesday afternoon (Dec 2).

Assistant Director of the Operations and Firefighting Division of the Malaysian Fire and Rescue Department, Selangor, Ahmad Mukhlis Mukhtar, said there were no casualties.

He said his department received a call regarding the incident at 1.39 pm.

Following that, 15 officers and personnel from the Kapar Fire and Rescue Station (BBP), assisted by BBP Klang Utara and BBP Bukit Jelutong, were dispatched to the location, he said.

"The operations commander reported that the fire involved four houses and an abandoned workshop. The fire also involved a sedan, a compact car, and a motorcycle.

"The estimated destruction is 90%, but there were no casualties. The fire was successfully controlled at 2.13 pm," he said in a statement, adding that the actual cause of the fire is still under investigation. – Bernama
