Sabah polls: Winners must fulfil pledges to rakyat, says PBS man

TAMPARULI: Elected representatives must fulfil their manifesto promises, says former Tamparuli assemblyman Datuk Seri Jahid Jahim.

When met at the SJKC Chung Hwa polling centre here on Saturday (Nov 29), he also said the entire voting process was smooth sailing.

"It went very well. The whole voting process was well organised and the officials were extremely efficient.

"I hope that the incoming representative will be able to perform their tasks responsibly and work for the rakyat," added Jahid, who is the Parti Bersatu Sabah deputy president.

Jahid and his wife, Datin Seri Mulianah Ugau, both voted in the morning.

Jahid held the Tamparuli seat for three terms from 2004 to 2013 and it in the 2018 General Election.

He retained it in the 2020 snap Sabah election.

Jahid was also the state rural development minister under the Gabungan Rakyat Sabah administration.

Tamparuli is among the most crowded contests in the 17th Sabah State Election, with 13 candidates in the fray.
