PETALING JAYA: Barisan Nasional is willing to work with like-minded parties to form the state government, says its chairman Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi (pic).

He said this is the stand of Barisan as a party that places importance on political stability and the well-being of the people.

"Barisan calls on the people of Sabah to maintain peace, unity and respect towards this democratic process.

"The journey forward for Sabah requires commitment and determination of all parties, and Barisan will continue to play a constructive role to ensure the state can move forward and enjoy prosperity," he said.

Ahmad Zahid said the outcome of the Sabah election proves that Barisan still has strong support and is an important political bloc in the state.

"Barisan would like to record our deepest appreciation to all our voters who have placed their trust in our candidates.

"We respect and accept the results of the polls," he said.
