Power restored to Kelana Jaya apartment after main switchboard room fire

KUALA LUMPUR: Electricity supply that was disrupted following a fire on Wednesday (Nov 19) at the main switchboard (MSB) room of an apartment in SS8, Kelana Jaya, was restored late Saturday night (Nov 22).

In a statement on Sunday (Nov 23), Tenaga Nasional Berhad (TNB) said temporary supply via a mobile generator set (genset) was made available at 12.10 am after the JMB completed repair works on components needed for the genset connection.

"This temporary supply is provided for the safety and comfort of residents while the building contractor carries out full repair works on the joint management body-owned MSB," TNB said in the statement posted on its Facebook page.

TNB added that it would continue to monitor the situation and is ready to provide technical assistance to the building contractor if needed.

Recently, a video circulated on social media showing an apartment block left in darkness after the fire at the MSB room, affecting some 1,000 residents. – Bernama
