Kuala Kangsar cops nab two after woman found dead in house


IPOH: A 49-year-old woman was found dead in a house in Kampung Cheh Kati in Kuala Kangsar, with police arresting two men believed to be involved in the case.

Kuala Kangsar OCPD Asst Comm Heisham Harun said police received a report about the incident at 2.38pm Wednesday (Sept 23) after the victim was found lying face down and unconscious in the living room.

“The victim was found covered in blood by a family member at about 2.15pm, who then contacted the police,” he said in a statement Wednesday.

ACP Heisham said the victim’s body was sent to the Forensic Department of Taiping Hospital for a post-mortem.

He said police also recovered a knife believed to have been used in the incident.

“Preliminary investigations found that the incident was believed to have stemmed from a misunderstanding between the victim and the suspects,” he said.

The case is being investigated for murder under Section 302 of the Penal Code.
