KUALA LUMPUR: Indira Gandhi has made an emotional appeal for action in the long-running search for her missing daughter, Prasana Diksa, thanking the crowd for their support at a recent gathering.
"I’ve done so much but until today, Prasana is not with me. I brought Prasana’s teddy bear with me. I have fought the legal battle for 16 years," said Indira, her voice breaking.
"When am I going to see her? This is my last chance," she added, expressing the anguish of a mother separated from her child.
"All this while, there was no clear action. It’s a mother’s cry for not seeing her daughter. Prasana should be brought to me," she said, also making her appeal in Tamil.
Deputy Minister in the Prime Minister’s Department (Law and Institutional Reform) M. Kulasegaran was present at the protest.
He highlighted that the father, K. Padmanathan (now known as Muhammad Riduan Abdullah), has been able to access government aid and petrol benefits, indicating that authorities should be able to locate him.
"We have fought this in court hundreds of times. Today, justice must prevail. There should not be any discrimination in all of this," Kulasegaran stressed.
