PETALING JAYA: A bus driver caused a seven-vehicle collision while under the influence of drugs, say police.
Petaling Jaya OCPD Asst Comm Shamsudin Mamat said that the accident around 9.15am on Friday (Aug 28) near the Subang Airport Road.
“Upon reaching the location, the bus lost control and crashed into two vehicles, causing a collision involving another four vehicles.
“A local man in his 30s sustained injuries and was taken to Sungai Buloh Hospital for treatment,” he said.
Investigations showed that the bus was not carrying any passengers at the time.
Urine testing conducted on the bus driver that is in his forties should that he tested positive for methamphetamine. Further checks showed that he also had 29 previous offences on his criminal record.
“The driver will be remanded on Saturday (Aug 30) at the Petaling Jaya courthouse,” he said.
