SEREMBAN: Police believe they have solved 14 house break-in cases involving gated communities with the arrest of three suspects, including two Chinese nationals.
OCPD Asst Comm Azahar Abdul Rahim said seven cases were reported here and the remaining in Selangor.
Police got their break when they detained a 37-year-old Chinese national in City Park near here at 1.15am on Nov 8.
“The suspect was behaving suspiciously and upon inspecting his car, house breaking tools were found,” he said.
“In a follow-up operation on Nov 10, we arrested a 60-year-old local man and a 64-year-old woman who is a Chinese national.
“She is believed to be a partner in crime of the first suspect.”
ACP Azahar said checks in the suspects’ home in Lebuh Pudu, Kuala Lumpur, led to the discovery of 27 watches, nine pieces of jewellery, five branded bags, three ATM cards, two mobile phones, various foreign currencies, as well as RM18,000.
He said police had stepped up checks after receiving a report of a break-in at a unit in Taman Sri Carcosa, Seremban 2, on Aug 13.
The victim lost branded watches and jewellery worth RM35,000.
ACP Azahar urged those with information on the burglary cases to contact the district police hotline at 06-603 3222.
