IPOH: Chief Secretary to the Government Tan Sri Shamsul Azri Abu Bakar heads the list of 238 recipients of honours and awards in conjunction with the 69th birthday of the Perak Ruler, Sultan Nazrin Muizzuddin Shah.
Shamsul Azri will be conferred the Darjah Dato’ Seri Paduka Cura Si Manja Kini (SPCM), which carries the title Datuk Seri.
Three individuals will receive the Darjah Dato’ Seri Paduka Mahkota Perak (SPMP), which also carries the title Datuk Seri.
They are State Assembly Speaker Datuk Mohammad Zahir Abdul Khalid, Solicitor-General II Datuk Umar Saifuddin Jaafar, and Orang Besar Empat Negeri Perak, Orang Kaya Besar Maharaja Diraja Datuk Dr Syed Jaafar Syed Aznan.
Two individuals will receive the Darjah Dato’ Seri Panglima Taming Sari (SPTS), which carries the title Datuk Seri Panglima – Chief of Defence Force Jen Tan Sri Mohd Nizam Jaffar and Inspector-General of Police Datuk Seri Mohd Khalid Ismail.
Public Works Department director-general Datuk Seri Roslan Ismail will receive the Darjah Dato’ Paduka Cura Si Manja Kini (DPCM), which carries the title Datuk.
Seventeen individuals will be awarded the Darjah Dato’ Paduka Mahkota Perak (DPMP), which also carries the title Datuk.
Among them are Perak human resources, health, Indian community affairs and national integration committee chairman A. Sivanesan; state education, higher education, youth and sports committee chairman Khairudin Abu Hanipah; Perak Health Department director Dr Feisul Idzwan Mustapha; Bank Simpanan Nasional CEO Jay Khairil Jeremy Abdullah; Perak Fire and Rescue Department director Sayani Saidon; and former Perak Education Department director Safuan Raba’ai.
Others on the DPMP list include UTAR Hospital Board deputy chairman Prof Emeritus Dr Cheong Soon Keng; Transport Ministry secretary-general Datuk Seri Jana Santhiran Muniayan; Malaysia’s Ambassador to Ireland Wan Aznainizam Yusri Wan Abdul Rashid; and Perak Orang Besar Jajahan Kuala Kangsar, Toh Maharaja Indera Dr Khairil Anuar Arshad.
Also honoured are Akademi Perubatan Malaysia president Prof Dr Rosmawati Mohamed, Petaling Jaya Integrated Centre for Advanced Surgery and Oncology Hospital medical director Dr Luqman Mazlan, Perak Town and Country Planning Department director Mohamed Zamri Mohd Zain, Public Service Department services division director Datuk Badurunhisam Mohd Nor, Investment, Trade and Industry Ministry deputy secretary-general (trade) Mastura Ahmad Mustafa, Tun Abdul Razak Institute of Broadcasting and Information director Roslan Ariffin and Lum Tuck Koe.
Six recipients will receive the Darjah Dato’ Pahlawan Taming Sari (DPTS), including Brig Jen Dr Sharifah Azlin Juliana Syed Zainal, Brig Jen Fazillah Ibrahim, Vice-Admiral Mohamad Azuwan Harun, Mej Jen Ramli Mohd Abd Jabar, Senior Asst Comm Hishammudin Mohd Amin and Brig Jen Norzahari Efandy Zakaria.
The Darjah Ahli Paduka Cura Si Manja Kini (PCM) will be presented to 13 recipients, including Perak Health Department deputy director Dr Husna Maizura Ahmad Mahir, obstetrics and gynaecology consultant Dr Jumaida Abu Bakar, Teluk Intan Hospital pathologist Dr Abdul Kadir Rifaei Abd Rashid Khairi, Perak Economic Planning Unit deputy director Haslinda Alias, and Perak Local Government Division secretary Zairasyahli Shah Zakaria.
Meanwhile, 29 individuals will receive the Darjah Ahli Paduka Mahkota Perak (PMP), including the late former Ayer Kuning assemblyman Ishsam Shahruddin. Fourteen recipients will be awarded the Darjah Ahli Cura Si Manja Kini (ACM), while 39 will receive the Darjah Ahli Mahkota Perak (AMP), including national bowling coach Syaidatul Afifah Badrul Hamidi.
A total of 58 individuals will receive the Pingat Pekerti Terpilih (PPT), including national badminton players Chen Tang Jie and Toh Ee Wei.
The Pingat Jasa Kebaktian (PJK) will be conferred on 46 individuals, while nine others will receive the Pingat Lama Perkhidmatan (PLP) for long service.
The investiture ceremony will be held over two sessions, on Nov 9 and Nov 15, at Istana Iskandariah’s Balairong Seri in Kuala Kangsar.
Orang Kaya Bendahari Seri Maharaja Jen (B) Tan Sri Mohd Zahidi Zainuddin said a special lunch spread will be prepared for 9,900 prisoners and detainees at four institutions in the state – the Tapah and Taiping prisons, Kamunting Correctional Centre, and Batu Gajah Rehabilitation Centre.
He added that several public programmes will be held in conjunction with Sultan Nazrin’s birthday, including the Hari Keputeraan Run.
Mohd Zahidi also said security has been tightened, with only authorised individuals allowed on stage with the Sultan.
