No injuries in PETRONAS Tower 3 restaurant fire

KUALA LUMPUR: No victims were reported in the fire that broke out in a restaurant on the 57th floor of PETRONAS Tower 3 on Saturday (Nov 1)

Sentul fire station chief, Mohd Hafizan Hassan, said that approximately 30% of the restaurant was damaged.

“There were no casualties, and investigations into the cause of the fire have begun,” he said on Saturday.

The fire was fully extinguished by 8.45 am.

He also said that firefighters successfully prevented the fire from spreading to other floors by utilising the building's firefighting systems.

“The building has reopened, but the restaurant will remain closed temporarily until the investigations are complete,” he added.
