In a separate case, police arrested another local man, aged 30, over two armed robbery incidents reported in Tanjung Kupang on Oct 20.
ACP Kumarasan said the first incident occurred around 10am when the suspect, armed with a knife, made off with RM285 in cash from a 25-year-old female cashier at a convenience store.
“The second report was lodged by a 50-year-old Chinese national after his wife was robbed at knifepoint at their home in Tanjung Kupang around 7.20pm the same day.
“The woman suffered facial injuries and was later treated at Hospital Sultanah Aminah,” he said.

A search led to the seizure of several items, including a cigarette box, a folding knife, two bags, a carton of beer, a wallet, a Republic of China passport, several bank cards, four mobile phones and RM268 in cash.
The suspect, who has prior criminal and drug-related records, tested negative for drugs and was remanded for nine days until Oct 29.
