A TEENAGER in India died after getting hit by a train while recording reels for social media, Malaysia Nanban reported.

Vishvajit Shah, 15, from the eastern Indian state of Odisha, had gone to a temple in a nearby village with his family.

While his family were inside the temple, the boy went to a railway bridge to record videos for his social media account.

At one point, he had apparently noticed a train approaching but instead of leaving, he stood next to the track and continued recording.

However, he was too close to the track and was struck by the train, killing him instantly.

The authorities are investigating the incident.
