KUALA LUMPUR: Police have arrested four men for allegedly robbing a Bangladeshi labourer at machete-point in Subang Jaya on Saturday (Oct 25).
Subang Jaya OCPD Asst Comm Wan Azlan Wan Mamat said the suspects, aged 26 to 30, were detained within 24 hours of the incident.
"The victim was attacked by a group of men armed with machetes in front of a house in Subang Jaya. They escaped with his mobile phone, cash and a Honda City car," he said in a statement on Sunday.
He said swift police action and intelligence work led to the arrests in Kajang, where officers also seized cash, mobile phones and the stolen vehicle.
"Urine tests found all suspects positive for methamphetamine. Each has previous records involving property and drug offences," he added.
The four suspects have been remanded for five days to assist investigations under Sections 395 and 397 of the Penal Code for armed robbery. - Bernama
