Another police outrider injured in collision during Asean Summit duties


KUALA LUMPUR: Another police outrider has been injured while on duty during the 47th Asean Summit after the motorcycle he was riding collided with a car.

Bukit Aman Traffic Investigation and Enforcement Department director Comm Datuk Seri Mohd Yusri Hassan Basri, in a statement on Sunday (Oct 26), said that the incident occurred earlier the same day on Jalan Tun Razak.

"The accident happened when the driver of a car suddenly changed lanes from the left to the right," he said.

As a result of the collision, the 25-year-old lance corporal sustained injuries to his lip and a fractured wrist.

“The victim was rushed to Kuala Lumpur Hospital for further treatment," he added, noting that the exact cause of the accident was still under investigation.

On Saturday (Oct 25), another police outrider, a 35-year-old corporal, was injured after being hit by a pickup near the Dengkil rest stop while escorting a delegation.
