AirAsia offers RM299 November flights home for Sabah voters

KOTA KINABALU: AirAsia is offering three-day promotional fixed fares for Sabahans in the peninsula to return to Sabah in time for the state election that takes place on Nov 29.

The fixed fares of RM299 each way will apply for flights from key domestic destinations directly to Sabah from Nov 26 to 28.

Comprising over 4,300 seats across 24 flights, the offer covers eight routes – Kuala Lumpur to Kota Kinabalu, Sandakan, Tawau or Labuan; or from Johor Baru to Kota Kinabalu and Tawau, as well as from Kota Baru and Penang to Kota Kinabalu.

In a statement, the airline said this initiative reflects its ongoing commitment to connect communities and support Malaysians during meaningful moments, especially in Sabah.

The statement said AirAsia has played a vital role in enhancing connectivity to the state over the years, linking Sabahans to the rest of the country and beyond with affordable fares, including the festival fixed fares and FLYsiswa initiatives.

Datuk Capt Fareh Mazputra, chief executive officer of AirAsia Malaysia, said as the people’s airline, they have always stood alongside the communities it serves.

“Elections are moments that bring communities together to shape the future, and this initiative is our way of making it more affordable for people to return home and take part.

“Sabah has always held a special place in our network and this is one way we continue to give back to the state, its people and the nation,” he said.

The promotional flights are available for booking from today until Oct 26 via airasia.com and the AirAsia Move app.

Promotional fixed fares for the selected flights are for one-way travel, including passenger service charge, regulatory service charges, fuel surcharges and other applicable fees, with relevant terms and conditions posted at the AirAsia website.
