KUALA LUMPUR: An unidentified object has fallen on the tracks, causing delays along the Kajang MRT Line here.

The incident, which occurred at 4.32pm on Wednesday (Oct 22), halted train movement between the Pusat Bandar Damansara and Phileo Damansara stations.

Among the measures taken by Rapid Rail include providing shuttle buses between the Phileo Damansara and Semantan stations.

Trains along the Kajang Line leading towards the Semantan station were also delayed with each stop taking longer than usual.

Hundreds of passengers were also seen at the Semantan station, with the lines beginning from an entrance to the station.

A staff member at the station said passengers were not allowed to pass the payment barricade as a precaution to prevent overcrowding.

There was similar confusion at the bus stop as many scrambled to find the shuttle buses to board.

In a statement, Rapid Rail said repairs are being carried out to resolve the situation.

"Additional auxiliary police officers and staff have been stationed at platforms and common areas to assist passengers.

"Rapid Rail sincerely apologises for the inconvenience caused and appreciates the patience and cooperation of all passengers," it said.

In an update on Facebook at 6.59pm, Rapid Rail said that the rectification works at Pusat Bandar Damansara and Phileo Damansara stations have been completed.

“Both the alternative train services and shuttle bus services have been discontinued.

“Train schedules are currently being adjusted, and normal service will resume shortly.

“We apologise for any inconvenience caused and appreciate your patience,” it said.
