KUALA LUMPUR: Rapid KL says it has resolved the incident where a dangling grounding cable from the MRT track between Sri Raya and Bandar Tun Hussein Onn MRT stations damaged several vehicles and injured a motorcyclist on Thursday (Sep 3).
Rapid KL said the cable was dangling from the MRT track viaduct onto the road below, which damaged several vehicles passing through the affected area.
The cable also injured a motorcyclist who was taken to Kajang Hospital for treatment.
Rapid KL said the dangling cable had been removed and no longer posed a risk to road users.
A technical team conducted an inspection and confirmed that the viaduct structure and systems related to train operations were not affected.
"The Kajang Line MRT service continued operating safely and as usual," it said in a press statement on Thursday (Sept 3).
Rapid KL said a preliminary inspection found that the cable had been cut from possible cable theft.
"Rapid KL views this incident seriously and will provide full cooperation in the ongoing investigation as the safety of passengers, road users and members of the public remains our priority," it added.
