Wan Ahmad currently serves as Director-General of Public Service, a position he has held since January 2024.

His distinguished career in the Malaysian public service spans more than three decades, during which he has held several key leadership positions, including Director-General of the Implementation Coordination Unit in the Prime Minister’s Department, Secretary-General of the Ministry of Home Affairs and Comptroller of the Royal Household at Istana Negara.

He currently serves as Chairman of the Sustainable Energy Development Authority (SEDA) Malaysia and the Razak School of Government, and also holds other board appointments in several organisations including Malaysia Rail Link Sdn Bhd (MRL), Kumpulan Wang Simpanan Pekerja (KWSP) and Lembaga Hasil Dalam Negeri (LHDN).
