KUALA LUMPUR: Malaysia Rapid Transit Corp Sdn Bhd (MRT Corp) has appointed Tan Sri Wan Ahmad Dahlan Abdul Aziz as its new chairman, effective Aug 13, 2026.
The rail transport developer said the appointment comes as it enters an important phase in the delivery of its national rail and urban development mandate. This includes the development of the Johor Bahru–Singapore RTS Link and the Penang LRT Mutiara Line, while continuing to strengthen its capabilities in transit-oriented development, integrated property development and commercial revenue growth.
Wan Ahmad currently serves as Director-General of Public Service, a position he has held since January 2024.
His distinguished career in the Malaysian public service spans more than three decades, during which he has held several key leadership positions, including Director-General of the Implementation Coordination Unit in the Prime Minister’s Department, Secretary-General of the Ministry of Home Affairs and Comptroller of the Royal Household at Istana Negara.
He currently serves as Chairman of the Sustainable Energy Development Authority (SEDA) Malaysia and the Razak School of Government, and also holds other board appointments in several organisations including Malaysia Rail Link Sdn Bhd (MRL), Kumpulan Wang Simpanan Pekerja (KWSP) and Lembaga Hasil Dalam Negeri (LHDN).

His experience will be invaluable as MRT Corp delivers major national infrastructure projects and strengthens its role in advancing Malaysia’s mobility and urban development agenda.
"His expertise in institutional management and policy implementation will support MRT Corp as it continues to strengthen its delivery capabilities and fulfil its mandate to catalyse the sustainability of cities and mobility of people,” said MRT Corp CEO Datuk Mohd Zarif Hashim in a statement.
