KUALA LUMPUR: Genting Xintiandi marked a significant milestone with the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Hunan Architectural Design Institute Group Co Ltd (Hunan Design) establishing a strategic collaboration for the design and build of the highly anticipated XTD Arena.

The MoU signifies both parties’ shared commitment to bring the XTD Arena vision to life by combining Genting Xintiandi’s ambition for an integrated lifestyle and entertainment destination with Hunan Design’s extensive architectural, engineering and large-scale venue design expertise.

Genting Xintiandi is envisioned as a dynamic integrated development with spanning approximately 24.3ha of freehold land. The development is planned to be progressively delivered across seven development phases, creating a comprehensive destination that integrates commercial shop lots, a bus terminal, retail spaces, serviced apartments, entertainment and lifestyle components bringing together one-stop experiences within the Genting Highlands destination. At its heart will be XTD Arena, an iconic landmark designed to serve as a major catalyst for visitor activity and commercial vibrancy.

Encompassing approximately 350,000 sq ft with a capacity of up to 18,000 people, XTD Arena is purpose-built to host concerts, conferences, sporting events, e-sports and hobby tournaments.

Beyond being a premier event destination, the arena is envisioned as a powerful economic driver, generating sustained footfall and retail demand while enhancing the performance and value of surrounding commercial components.

Through this collaboration, Genting Xintiandi and Hunan Design aim to position XTD Arena as a landmark destination for entertainment, sports and major events, further strengthening Genting Xintiandi’s appeal as a vibrant year-round destination.
