PONTIAN: An elderly woman who suffered a stroke and her two grandsons have been rescued after they were trapped in floodwaters here.
Pontian Baru Fire and Rescue station operations commander Mohd Hasnan Abd Rahman said a call was received at 11.43am on Sunday (Oct 19) regarding the incident at Kampung Bugis Batu 6, Penerok.
"Nine firemen were dispatched to the scene located about 16km away and found a family trapped.
"A 79-year-old woman who had suffered a stroke, along with her two grandsons aged eight and three were rescued before being taken to Surau Batu 6 Penerok," he said in a statement.
He added that the operation was fully completed at 12.40pm.
