Sijangkang storm: 64 affected households to get RM1,000 disaster aid from S'gor govt, says MB


KLANG: Each of the 64 households that suffered damage in the storm in Sijangkang, Kuala Langat, on Wednesday (Oct 15) will receive RM1,000 disaster assistance from the Selangor state government.

Selangor Mentri Besar Datuk Seri Amirudin Shari said, in a statement Friday (Oct 17), that RM64,000 has been allocated for this purpose.

He added the 14 people who were injured in the mishap, and were currently receiving treatment, will also receive RM1,000 each.

“The state government has also identified that repair work on the damaged SRA Kampung Medan will cost RM320,000 and this will be fully allocated from the state disaster fund so that students can return to school safely," said Amirudin.

According to the Mentri Besar, the state’s commitment was in addition to the initial assistance channelled by state agencies such as MBI Foundation and the Selangor Islamic Religious Council (Mais) which have channelled RM564,000 to six schools, service centres and storm victims.
