Sabah Polls: Parti Amanah Negara to finalise candidates under Pakatan Harapan

BUTTERWORTH: Parti Amanah Negara will finalise its candidate to contest under the Pakatan Harapan banner in the 17th Sabah State Election.

Its vice president, Adly Zahari, said the party under Pakatan has almost finalised its discussions on seat allocations with its partners, Barisan Nasional and Gabungan Rakyat Sabah (GRS).

"Right now we are in the process of finalising the list of candidates and Amanah has several local candidates that will contest in the state election," he said.

He said Amanah has proposed several names, and the party would be making the final decision soon.

The Election Commission (EC) has set Nov 29 as the polling day for the 17th Sabah state election, with nominations on Nov 15 and early voting on Nov 25.

On Oct 6, Chief Minister Datuk Seri Hajiji Noor announced the dissolution of the Sabah State Legislative Assembly to pave the way for the state election.

The Sabah State Assembly has 79 seats, of which 73 are contested, while the other six are appointed Members of the State Legislative Assembly (ADUNs).
