Four schools in Selangor move to home-based learning after storm

PETALING JAYA: Four schools affected by a storm in Teluk Panglima Garang, Selangor, will conduct home-based teaching and learning (PdPR) sessions as the Education Ministry moves to carry out immediate repair works.

The ministry said the storm, which struck the area on Wednesday (Oct 15) evening, damaged four schools — SMK Sijangkang Jaya, SK Sijangkang Jaya, SK Kampung Medan, and SK Jalan Tanjung.

“Cleaning and damage assessment works are currently underway at all affected schools.

“All affected schools will implement PdPR in the near future to allow lessons to go on and ensure the safety of students, teachers and all school staff,” it said in a statement on Thursday (Oct 16).

The ministry also urged all state education departments, district education offices, and school administrators nationwide to enhance their preparedness for unpredictable weather conditions and to safeguard the well-being and safety of all members of the education community.
