Suspect in student stabbing remanded for a week


SHAH ALAM: The 14-year-old male student detained for allegedly stabbing a 16-year-old female student at a secondary school in Bandar Utama, have been remanded until Oct 21.

Selangor police chief Comm Datuk Shazeli Kahar said the suspect was brought to the Petaling Jaya Magistrate's Court on Wednesday (Oct 15) morning.

"He has been remanded for seven days. Once the remand process is concluded, the suspect was brought to the Petaling Jaya district police headquarters to assist with the ongoing investigation into the murder," he told reporters at the state police headquarters on Wednesday.

He added post-mortem on the victim was completed at about midnight.

"The cause of death is multiple stab wounds to the neck and chest.

"We can only confirm the exact number of stab wounds once the official report is issued by the pathologist," he said.
