School stabbing: 'I'm heartbroken my son did this,' says suspect's father

PETALING JAYA: The father of the 14-year-old student who stabbed a girl to death at a Bandar Utama school is heartbroken over the incident.

"I am heartbroken my son did this.

"I know that no matter what I say, it’s useless. No matter what I do, I can’t get their daughter back. I don’t know how to face them…” said the emotionally distraught man, according to China Press.

The father said that his son was introverted and didn't talk much. He couldn't believe his son would do such a thing, and said his apology was not enough.

The suspect's 40-year-old father, who did not want to be named, told the media at the school where the incident occurred that he sent his son to school as usual in the morning, and there was nothing unusual about his son. He did not expect such a thing to happen.

The 14-year-old student had allegedly stabbed the 16-year-old victim outside the girls’ toilet at around 9.10am.

Two sharp weapons supposedly used in the attack were seized by police, and the suspect has been taken into custody.
