PETALING JAYA: The allocation for the Border Control and Protection Agency reflects the government's serious commitment to strengthening enforcement, particularly at the nation’s border entry points.
The agency’s director-general, Comm Datuk Seri Mohd Shuhaily Mohd Zain, conveyed his appreciation to Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim following the announcement of Budget 2026, in which RM45mil was allocated to the agency.
“I would like to thank the government for the allocation given to this new agency.
“Our journey is still in its early stages, and there will certainly be various challenges ahead,” he said when contacted on Friday (Oct 10).
Comm Mohd Shuhaily added that the experience of military veterans in national security and defence would be vital in supporting the agency’s mission.
“We highly value the expertise of veterans in this field to help us achieve the government’s aspirations,” he said.
He stressed that the discipline and specialised skills of former armed forces personnel would be fully utilised to ensure that the agency becomes a credible and dignified border enforcement agency.
