'Only minimal' conflicting views among PH, BN and GRS ahead of Sabah polls, says Saifuddin


KUALA LUMPUR: There are only minimal differing views among Pakatan Harapan, Barisan Nasional and Gabungan Rakyat Sabah (GRS) ahead of the coming Sabah state election, says Datuk Seri Saifuddin Nasution Ismail.

The Pakatan secretary-general said seat negotiations were also at the final stages.

"There is just a little left. While there are conflicting views, it's minimal," he told a press conference in the Parliament media centre here on Thursday (Oct 9).

He added that a special press conference will be held soon on the matter.

On Monday (Oct 6), Chief Minister Datuk Hajiji Noor announced the dissolution at a press conference after a gathering with Sabah government state assemblymen at Menara Kinabalu.

Hajiji made the announcement after obtaining the consent of Sabah Yang di-Pertua Negeri Tun Musa Aman at Istana Seri Kinabalu.

The Sabah State Assembly comprises 79 seats – 73 elected and six appointed members.

The Election Commission (EC) will hold a special meeting on Oct 16 to discuss key dates and other matters related to the 17th Sabah State Election.
