“The 29th LTdL, organised by the Youth and Sports Ministry through the National Sports Council, has started on Sept 28 and will conclude on Oct 5.

“The race will traverse several states and Johor is among the locations included in its route,” he said in a statement on Tuesday (Sept 30).

He urged road users to plan their journeys ahead, make use of the alternative routes and comply with police instructions to ensure traffic runs smoothly and safely.

“There are eight alternative routes available, including from the direction of the Southern Region Malaysia Maritime bridge, Port of Tanjung Pelepas, Kampung Tiram Duku/Kampung Paya Mengkuang and Leisure Farm/Aspira Lakehomes.

“Others include access from Taman Dato Syed Mohd Idrus/Nusa Cemerlang Industrial Park, East Ledang, Johor Baru city centre, and Medini/Ramada Hotel by Wyndham Meridin Johor Baru/Sunway Big Box Retail Park,” he said.

ACP Kumarasan also reminded motorists to respect the law, warning that stern action would be taken against those caught instigating, breaking traffic rules or ignoring police orders during the event.
