Wan Saiful says he plans to refer Azmin, Tun Faisal to Bersatu disciplinary board

PETALING JAYA: A Bersatu leader says he plans to refer secretary-general Datuk Seri Mohamed Azmin Ali to the party’s disciplinary board.

Bersatu supreme council member Datuk Wan Saiful Wan Jan said a similar complaint would be filed against information chief Datuk Tun Faisal Ismail Aziz.

He said the complaints are over alleged threats against division leaders supposedly linked to a plot to oust president Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin.

“Probably in a day or two,” he said at a press conference here on Monday (Sept 30).

On the alleged statutory declarations, Wan Saiful said it was “twisted” by certain quarters and not what was circulated online.

Prior to the Bersatu annual general assembly, there was talk of alleged statutory declarations among Bersatu division leaders calling for Muhyiddin to step down as president.

The Tasek Gelugor MP also said Mohamed Azmin should not remain as a party leader as long as the controversy surrounding an explicit video of the latter remains unresolved.

“If it is political persecution, we will fight and defend. But if it is about morals, this is unsuitable, especially for Bersatu,” he said.

The explicit video implicating Azmin surfaced in 2019.

CyberSecurity Malaysia later confirmed that the video was authentic but said identifying those in the video using facial recognition technology could not be done as the video was of poor resolution.
