Three cars, two motorcycles damaged by fallen tree in Penang


GEORGE TOWN: A fallen tree has damaged three cars and two motorcycles at Lintang Maccalum 2 on Monday (Sept 29) morning.

Penang Fire and Rescue Department spokesman said the incident occurred following rainfall and strong winds during the wee hours.

"A team of firemen from Lebuh Pantai fire station was immediately rushed to the location after the department was alerted to the incident at 2.40am," said the spokesman.

The spokesman said the operation commander instructed the operation response team to cut and clear the tree using firefighting equipment including chainsaws.

He said no casualties were reported from the incident.

Operation is still ongoing at the scene.
