Myanmar man suspected of killing wife arrested in Chemor


IPOH: Police have detained a Myanmar national on suspicion of murdering his wife at a house in Kampung Kuala Kuang, Chemor, near here.

Ipoh OCPD Asst Comm Abang Zainal Abidin Abang Ahmad said the 37-year-old suspect was arrested after police found his wife unconscious at the house at about 3.40pm on Monday (Sept 29).

"Police received a call at about 12.30pm from a man requesting help to contact an ambulance, saying that a 28-year-old Myanmar woman was unconscious.

"A team from the Ipoh police headquarters rushed to the scene and found the woman dead, with strangulation marks on her neck," he said on Monday night.

He said the victim's body was sent to the Hospital Raja Permaisuri Bainun in Ipoh for a post-mortem examination.

"Police are still investigating to ascertain the motive of the incident," he added. – Bernama
