4WD in which woman's body was found had not moved since April, say cops

KUALA LUMPUR: The four-wheel drive (4WD) in which a woman's body was found recently had been left near Diamond Square in Setapak since April, according to police.

"The deceased was not the owner of the vehicle," Wangsa Maju OCPD Asst Comm Mohamad Lazi Ismail said in a statement on Friday (Sept 26).

"The car had not been moved since April, and it was not locked.

"Investigations found no signs of foul play, and the case has been classified as sudden death.

"A post-mortem was conducted on Wednesday (Sept 24) and the cause of death is still pending."

He added that the victim, a 58-year-old foreigner, had not returned home for over a week before her body was found.

It was reported on Tuesday (Sept 23) that the body was found inside a 4WD parked in the area.

A building supervisor conducting a routine inspection detected a foul smell from the vehicle and alerted police.
