Foul smell leads to discovery of dead woman inside 4WD parked at KL business square

KUALA LUMPUR: A foul odour near a business premises at Diamond Square, Jalan Gombak, led to the discovery of a woman’s body in a four-wheel drive (4WD) vehicle on Tuesday (Sept 23) morning.

The body was found at about 10am inside the vehicle parked by the roadside in front of a business block.

Wangsa Maju OCPD Asst Comm Mohamad Lazim Ismail said early checks revealed the vehicle might have been left at the location for the past two days.

“A building supervisor, who was carrying out routine inspections, first noticed the smell before alerting the police.

“Officers from the Setapak police station and Wangsa Maju district criminal investigation division later conducted checks and found the victim’s body inside the vehicle,” he said when contacted.

ACP Mohamad Lazim said no criminal elements were found at the scene, but a post-mortem will be conducted at Kuala Lumpur Hospital.

He added that investigators have yet to establish the victim’s identity as no documents were found on her, but efforts are ongoing, including tracing the vehicle’s owner.

“For now, the case has been classified as sudden death.

"We urge anyone with information or who has lost a family member to contact the Wangsa Maju district police operations room at 03-9289 9222,” he said.
