KLANG: Investigations into the death of the stray dog Rocky will be conducted thoroughly and transparently, police say.
South Klang OCPD Asst Comm Lim Jit Huey said that it once again reiterated that investigations were ongoing following a peaceful vigil outside the district police headquarters on Sunday (Aug 2) night.
"In this regard, the South Klang police wishes to inform the public that the police have already opened an investigation paper under Section 428 of the Penal Code in connection with the case.
"The police gives its full assurance that the investigation will be conducted fairly, transparently and professionally, without favouring any part," he said in a statement on Monday (Aug 3).
He said the investigation is currently being actively pursued to complete the collection of all relevant evidence and witness statements.
"The investigation paper will be referred and submitted to the deputy public prosecutor in the near future for further instructions and action,” he said.
He added that the public is advised to always comply with the law and to refrain from gathering at government premises as it could disrupt public operations.
"Such actions may disrupt the smooth operation of public services and cause traffic congestion in the surrounding area.
"The police urge all parties to remain calm and allow the legal process to proceed without interference.
"The public is also advised not to make or spread any speculation that could hinder the ongoing investigation,” he said.
