Poor CCTV footage hampering police efforts to identify duo who attacked Rafizi's son

KUALA LUMPUR: Police are unable to identify two individuals who allegedly attacked Datuk Seri Rafizi Ramli's son as closed-circuit television (CCTV) footage of the incident is not clear.

"We discovered several individuals were involved (in the incident) through CCTV recordings," said Inspector-General of Police Datuk Seri Mohd Khalid Ismail.

"However, the footage is not clear enough to ascertain their identities," he told reporters at the Police Training Centre on Wednesday (Sept 17).

Rafizi had previously said he had yet to receive any updates from authorities over the case.

Earlier on Aug 22, Mohd Khalid said police were still waiting for a chemical analysis of the substance injected into Rafizi's 12-year-old son.

Police have recorded statements from 19 individuals so far, including family members and other witnesses.

Rafizi's son was attacked by two men on a motorcycle who injected an unknown substance into him at a shopping mall in Putrajaya.
