Myanmar national found dead on Pulau Pangkor


IPOH: A 24-year-old Myanmar national was found dead in the hilly area at Sungai Pinang Besar in Pulau Pangkor on Tuesday (Sept 16)

Perak Fire and Rescue Department acting assistant operations director Shazlean Mohd Hanafiah said they received a distress call at 3.37pm and deployed a team from the Pulau Pangkor station to the scene.

“The victim was found about 200m uphill.

“He was confirmed dead at the location,” he said in a statement Tuesday.

He said a team of seven personnel used ropes and a stretcher to bring the victim's body down before handing it over to the police for further action.

The operation was brought under control at 4.50pm and ended at 5.15pm.
