Landslide hits home near KK, six missing

KOTA KINABALU: Rescuers and villagers are racing against time to rescue victims buried under earth and debris following a landslide at Cenderakasih off Kolombong near here.

It is learnt that the early morning incident on Monday (Sept 15) was triggered by continuous rainfall since the previous evening.

Two victims have been rescued so far, one of them with a broken leg.

Villagers there said they believe six people are missing and could be buried underneath the debris.

They said the landslide brought a squatter structure down the hill, burying its occupants.

Firemen and police are on site.
