KOTA KINABALU: A 29-year-old foreign worker died after he was believed to have been electrocuted while carrying out lamp post installation works in Kampung Malinja, Nabawan on Tuesday (July 21).
In a statement, the Sabah Fire and Rescue Department Operations Centre said it received a call regarding the incident at 11.49am.
"A team from the Nabawan Fire and Rescue Station, comprising six personnel, arrived at the scene, located about four kilometres from the station, at 11.56am.
"The Operations Commander reported that the male victim was believed to have suffered an electric shock while carrying out lamp post installation at the location,” it said.
The team extricated the victim, who was pronounced dead at the scene by a medical officer and subsequently handed over to the police for further action.
The operation ended at 12.15pm. – Bernama
